on Sep 6, 2024 FWIW I'm unable to reproduce on macOS
$ tools/test.py --repeat 9999 test/parallel/test-performance-function.js -t 1 [04:10|% 100|+ 9999|- 0]: Done All tests passed.
Unable to reproduce locally on ubuntu either.
$ python tools/test.py --repeat 5000 test/parallel/test-performance-function [01:21|% 100|+ 5000|- 0]: Done All tests passed.
Ditto on Kali:
$ python tools/test.py --repeat 5000 test/parallel/test-performance-function [01:26|% 100|+ 5000|- 0]: Done All tests passed.This is trivially reproducible, just add more loops (and drop
mbody).const { createHistogram, timerify } = require('perf_hooks'); for (let j = 0; j < 100; j++) { const histogram = createHistogram(); const m = () => {}; const n = timerify(m, { histogram }); for (let i = 0; i < 1000; i++) n(); console.log(histogram.min, histogram.max) }
Always throws on my macbook air at some iteration.
With original
mbut reduced iterations it also reproduces locally:const { createHistogram, timerify } = require('perf_hooks'); for (let j = 0; j < 100; j++) { let _deadCode; const histogram = createHistogram(); const m = (a, b = 1) => { for (let i = 0; i < 10; i++) _deadCode = i; }; const n = timerify(m, { histogram }); for (let i = 0; i < 1000; i++) n(); console.log(histogram.min, histogram.max) }
